Business Council of BC | Provincial Leaders' Gathering Reception | September 8th 2015
On the eve of the second annual B.C. Cabinet and First Nations Leaders' Gathering, the Business Council was pleased to host the Provincial Leaders' Gathering Reception in partnership with the Province of British Columbia, BC Assembly of First Nations, First Nations Summit and Union of BC Indian Chiefs at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.
Attended by more than 400 First Nations, Provincial government and senior business leaders from across BC, the evening was dedicated to building relationships and evolving our partnerships through sustainable economic development. Remarks by Premier Christy Clark, Elder Mary Charles, Chief Robert Joseph, Ambassador, Reconciliation Canada, and former Attorney General, Geoff Plant, Q.C., Gall, Legge, Grant & Munroe LLP provided inspiration around what each of us can do to advance reconciliation.
The forestry, liquefied natural gas, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, tourism and transportation sector showcases located through the room highlighted each sector's contributions to BC’s economy, as well as the opportunities before us to partner with First Nations.
The Business Council of British Columbia appreciates the generous contributions of the following event sponsors: Bennett Jones LLP, Ernst & Young, RBC Royal Bank, Seaspan ULC, Teck and Vancouver Island University.
