Second Annual Chair's Dinner featuring Kishore Mahbubani

The Second Annual BCBC Chair’s Dinner brought together British Columbia’s senior business leadership on May 20th for an enlightening evening exploring global issues facing our province’s economy. Following on last year’s guest speakers, Premier Christy Clark and Dominic Barton, Managing Director, McKinsey & Company, we were pleased to present Professor Kishore Mahbubani, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. An author and academic, Professor Mahbubani is an expert in international affairs, Asia and the West. He has served as President of the UN Security Council, was listed by the Financial Times as one of the Top 50 Individuals who would shape the debate on the future of capitalism and has been named one of Foreign Policy's top Global Thinkers. His latest book, The Great Convergence: Asia, The West and the Logic of One World, was selected by the Financial Times as one of the best books of 2013. Professor Mahbubani shared with us his insights on how Asia is reemerging as a global economic powerhouse by understanding and implementing what he calls the seven pillars of western wisdom.
